The Heart Behind
Time to Assist
|
In October 2018, I drove past a house fire in our Novi community and learned an elderly woman named Roxie had lost everything. She had no insurance and very little support. Something in my heart told me I couldn’t just drive by. What started as a simple desire to help quickly grew into a community-wide effort. I started a GoFundMe, reached out to our community, and what happened next was extraordinary. Local families, businesses, the Novi Police and Fire Department, and even elementary school children rallied together. In total, the Novi community raised over $25,000 to help Roxie find a new home. Fox 2 Detroit covered the story and Roxie called me her guardian angel — but truthfully, it was our entire community that showed up for her.

Caring for someone with a progressive condition teaches you things no training manual can. You learn to read a room, to notice a harder day before it's spoken, and that consistency and calm matter.
That experience is at the heart of everything I do at Time To Assist. I understand how overwhelming it can feel when life becomes more than you can manage on your own — whether you're caring for a loved one, keeping up with daily responsibilities, or simply needing someone you can truly trust to show up.

A Little About Me |
I've proudly called Novi home for over 30 years, where my husband and I raised our daughter through Novi schools — she's now in college and we couldn't be prouder. Our two cats, Harvard and Bella, keep life at home fun and full of personality. When I'm not working, you'll find me spending time with family and friends, traveling, staying active at the gym, or around a table for a good game of Euchre — my favorite. I'm also actively involved in the Novi community as a Yorkshire Place HOA member since 2011 and recently became a mentor with Novi Youth Assistance, which has been very rewarding. |
Let's ConnectWhether you’re looking for ongoing support or just need help with a few things, I’m happy to connect and see what would feel most helpful for you.

I have had the privilege of knowing Michele Witter for many years — first as a fellow Novi school parent, and more recently as a colleague through the Silver Lining mentorship program, where I personally encouraged her to join as a student mentor. Over the years I watched Michele navigate the enormous responsibility of caring for both of her parents simultaneously through serious and complex health conditions — all while remaining present, warm, and deeply engaged in our community. What struck me most was her calm, her organization, and her unwavering commitment to showing up for the people she loved, no matter what the day brought. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for someone they can genuinely trust.
